Romsey Forum
Romsey Forum is a new opportunity for local residents to discuss issues and problems relating to Romsey (positive as well as negative) with their councillors and fellow residents.
Ideally we would all sit around a campfire eating toasted marshmallows and drinking cups of tea while discussing the problems of the day, but an obscure government regulation prohibiting large community gatherings around campfires unless extensively surveilled by taser-equipped police and cctv means that we are going to have to make do with an online version.
One real advantage of this is that you can contribute to the debate at your leisure, and can check every so often to see how the discussion has developed and what progress has been made.
This is how it will work…
On the first day of every other month I will post a topic called “Romsey Forum” on a local website called “We’re All Neighbours”. The simplest way to access the debate is through a hyperlink I will post on this page.
For example, the first discussion can be accessed by clicking on the following link: Romsey Forum 1 (07/05/08) (If you want to contribute to the discussion you can register at the bottom of the linked page. This only takes a few seconds.)
Once every other month may not seem often enough, but the discussion can continue indefinitely and I will check in at regular intervals, so there is no constraint on the amount of debate that can take place or my availability. It is merely a way of splitting our discussion up into manageable chunks. Indeed, I hope our dialogue will be continuous.
Alternately, residents are welcome to contact me at kilian.bourke@gmail.com.
